The NYDailyNews is looking at stars of the 1990's and where they are now.
Renee O'Connor (Gabrielle)
Xena's sidekick, the staff-wielding Gabrielle, blossomed from story-telling bard to an acrobatic warrior with the help of her butt-kicking counterpart. Thanks to the ambiguous nature of the duo's relationship, O'Connor would go on to be a cult figure in the lesbian community. Since 'Xena,' the actress has appeared in a slew of shorts and made for TV movies, while also trying her hand at directing and producing.
LITTLE ROCK, Ark- Actor Lea Thompson (Back to the Future, “Caroline in the City”) will lead a panel at the Little Rock Film Festival (LRFF) which will discuss the role of women in filmmaking. The panel will include Renee O’Connor (“Xena: Warrior Princess”), writer and director Jenny Deller and writer and director Martha Stevens. Thompson, O’Connor, Deller and Stevens all have films showing in the LRFF.
Renee O'Connor starred in all six seasons of Xena: Warrior Princess as Xena's sidekick Gabrielle. She then moved on to launch her own film production company - ROC Pictures - where she writes, directs and produces films as well as an online video subscription channel. O’Connor will screen the short film Infinity in which she stars with her husband and daughter.
Renee has posted the following about her movie Fitful and a Fitful Movie Swap!
FITFUL MOVIE SWAP!! From Director Rich Brauer:
It seems that there may be a little confusion between the pre-release version of our 2010 suspense film FITFUL and its final release version titled DEADRISE. We like the final version better and because we’re appreciative to those who were first in line to purchase FITFUL, we want to thank you with this simple offer:
Hot off the email is Gabsfan's message about Renee's upcoming appearance at the Burn Relay on 19 May. Renee has been supporting the Alisha Ann Ruch Burn Foundation since 2003.
RENEE CONFIRMED FOR 2012 LA FIREFIGHTERS BURN RELAY ON MAY 19
Chanda Guerin from the Alisa Ann Ruch Burn Foundation has just informed me that Renee has confirmed her attendance at the 2012 LA Firefighters Burn Relay on Saturday, May 19.
However, the format of the relay has changed this year and the route Renee will be on will not be known until the morning of the event..
"The California Highway Patrol changed their protocol for providing motorcade services to exclusively emergency situations and funeral-related activities. In the past, the CHP rides along the relay to help the 10-15 fire engines on each route get through traffic. Since we don’t have the CHP to help out with traffic we’re breaking into 4-5 smaller groups. Renee will be on one of the five routes but that will not be confirmed until the morning of the relay.
We’re starting at 2700 Barnard Way, Santa Monica Beach (a parking lot) and departing for the relay at 9AM. The five routes will be visiting stations throughout Los Angeles and arriving at LA County #118 (17056 Gale Avenue, City of Industry) for the finale event between noon – 12:30PM. The finale will include a chili cook-off, King Taco, a raffle and music.
Since the relay is formatted differently this year, we would like to invite you and fellow Renee O’Connor fans to join us at the finale! Chanda Guerin

Seattle pi has look at the Superheroines through the years and of course Xena and Gabrielle are featured (it wouldn't be accurate list about strong female characters without those two!)

Renee O'Connor as Gabrielle, Xena's sidekick. Her relationship with Xena had subtly sexual overtones that reportedly made the show a hit with lesbians
Renee and Randy Crowder have announced on Facebook that INFINITY has won BEST SHORT FILM and AUDIENCE CHOICE awards at the ITN Film and Distribution Festival.
There's also an article on Fan Pop that has an interview with Randy Crowder where he talks about INFINITY.
Filmmaker Randy Crowder has been making a serious impression on the indie festival circuit with his powerful new short film “INFINITY.” After establishing himself in Hollywood as an actor, Randy began building his knowledge behind the scenes working in numerous production positions which has lead him to creating this film and his directorial debut.
“INFINITY” has been earning ‘Official Selection’ status at numerous festivals around the country, including recent screenings at the 2012 ITN Film Festival in Hollywood and the ON LOCATION: Memphis Film Festival. Up next, the film is set to screen at The Black Hills Film Festival on May 1st and at the Catalina Film Festival which runs May 4th-6th.
I recently had a chance to chat with Randy, who revealed his inspiration for the story, what surprised him most while making it, and overcoming the ‘no-to-low’ budget issues that many indie filmmakers face
