Xena (Lucy Lawless) and Gabrielle (Renee O'Connor) join forces with Joxer (Ted Raimi) and Orpheus (Matthew Chamberlain) to defeat the evil god Bacchus (Anthony Ray Parker), who is transforming innocent girls into deadly monsters.

SCROLLS & SCRIBES: Written by Adam Armus and Nora Kay Foster; Edited by Robert Field; Directed by TJ Scott.

PASSING PARADE: Ted Raimi (Joxer); Matthew Chamberlain (Orpheus), Anthony Ray Parker (Bacchus), Kym Krystaly (Bacchae ).

DISCLAIMER: No Bloodsucking Bacchae were harmed during the production of this motion picture. However, a few Dryads lost their heads..

STORY SO FAR: Xena and Gabrielle realise they've bitten off more than they can chew when they enter a village filled with bacchae girls.

LOG LINE
Xena (Lucy Lawless) and Gabrielle (Renee O'Connor) join forces with Joxer (Ted Raimi) and Orpheus (Matthew Chamberlain) to defeat the evil god Bacchus (Anthony Ray Parker), who is transforming innocent girls into deadly monsters.

REWIND FOR:

Ted Raimi nearly ripping the head off the actor who played Orpheus. Watch carefully as Ted turns away after Xena has ordered him to make Orpheus "more presentable". He was so into the moment he forgot that head under his arm was actually attached to someone.

Lucy scaring the hell out of the insurers when her fire-breathing act in Baachus's cave blew back into her face, an inch away from giving her a permanent sun tan. Note to self: breathing fire into a fire equals more fire.

QUOTABLE QUOTES:

"Never pick him up by his hair and he parts it in the middle." Joxer in a touching moment demonstrating he had clearly bonded with his friend, the head.

"Once again, your selfish desires come first." Orpheus adding his name to the list of people who know of Xena's reputation for er - young female friends?

"It's only a matter of time before Gabrielle bites Xena and makes her a Baachae too." The first and only time perhaps, that fears were held for the young innocent girl from Poteidea being the one doing the corrupting.

BEST COMEBACKS:

Orpheus: "You can be a warrior and a musician, I was."

Joxer: "Yeah right, and a Hydra makes a good house pet."

Xena Episode Stills - Season 6 Episode 16 Send In The Clones

ImageUpdated the Xena Episode Stills galleries with images from the Seaosn 6 Episode 16 Send In the Clones!

In modern-day New York City, three fans utilize cloning techniques to reproduce Xena and Gabrielle so that they can combat the evil in the world. But rather than awaken the "good" Xena they find themselves face-to-face with the "evil" Xena, who is being manipulated by her former running partner, Alti.

Click here to view images | Read The Review

SCRIBES AND SCROLLS: Written by Paul Robert Coyle. Directed by Charlie Haskell. Edited by Tim Batt.

PASSING PARADE: Claire Stansfield (Alexis Los Alamos/Alti); Allison Wall (Clea); Polly Baigent (Polly); Ian Hughes (Mac).

STORY SO FAR: Alti, with the help of three modern day fans of the TV show Xena, clone the original Xena and Gabrielle.

DISCLAIMER: No Xena fans were harmed in the making of this motion picture.

REWIND FOR: The playback of the sickening scene from Ides of March where Gabs takes out several Roman guards. Keep an eye on the facial expressions - whilst 'Alexis' appeared entertained, Mac and Polly snickered, revelling in the violence. Only Clea had the good grace to horrified. In the minds of TPTB, Xena fans clearly fall into one of two categories - those who love the kick-ass action and those that love the 'lovey dovey crap'.

The lascivious look on Xena's face when she watches vision of herself kissing Gabrielle. Her ribald "All right....." was in direct contrast to the discomfort etched across Gabrielle's face. You had to laugh, snicker at least.

QUOTABLE:

"If you start talking about subtext I'm going to barf." Rob Tapert overheard at a story meeting for the Xena finale. *g*

"If you're talking about their 'special' relationship, I'm into that. Just let me watch." Oh sorry, there is obviously a third category of Xena fan - the male voyeur. And I thought all the eye candy was for the grrls. *g*

"A camp fire scene...a nice campfire scene with Gabby. Like the one from series two, episode eleven, just before the second ad break." There is no such scene of course (the episode being Here She Comes, Miss Amphipolis). Either Paul Robert Coyle is having a joke with us, or he hasn't been studying his Xena bible very well. Most likely the former, knowing writers as we do.

"Besides...the classic was series four, ep seven when she did that poignant little insight...as she's taking her boots off, she sits by the campfire." Another scene (supposedly from Locked Up Tied Down) dreamt up by the writer. Now I know he's yanking our chains.

"...they almost ruined everything with their macho disks. I know...after lights out I'll play 'em a full season of old Ellen tapes. Yeah...." The scary contents of Clea's mind as she plots a little subtext of her own for the revived Xena and Gabby. Talk about your Future Shock.

"Hear you've been busy Xena...missed your fire, your fury." And not forgetting the interesting things she does with vol-au-vents. Formal diagnosis: definite obsessive-compulsive tendencies by Alti, who just can't seem to let Xena go.

Best Comebacks:

Mac: "Shouldn't we have some more Joxer stuff?"

Clea: "You're kidding aren't you?"

Clea: "You were a Trekkie?"

Mac: "Yeah."

Clea: "You really are a nerd."

Xena Episode Stills Season 6 Episode 3 Heart of Darkness

Image

Updated the Xena Episode Stills with the episode that launched yet another thousand fanfic stories and in the process Xena created Lucifer the King of Hell..not sure what Hades has to say about that but hey this was the new paradigm; the Greek Gods were in decline and all of that.

Xena Season 6 Episode 3: Heart of Darkness

SCRIBES & SCROLLS: Story by Emily Skopov. Directed by Mark Beesley.
Edited by Tim Batt.

PASSING PARADE: Alex Mendoza (Lucifer); Adrienne Wilkinson (Eve);
Greg Lee (Virgil); Charles Mesure (Michael); Tamati Rice (Raphael)
Kara Douglas (Aliyah).

DISCLAIMER: All Hell broke loose during the filming of this motion picture.

STORY SO FAR: Xena tries to make an archangel take her place as King of Hell. Meanwhile, everyone starts turning to their darker sides, as an unaffected Eve tries to intervene.

REWIND FOR: Lucifer staggering under the weight of his virtue. Or more precisely his angelic wings. As he stands in the town square, have a look at his approach to camera as he delivers the line: "Well, I'm more than an angel, I'm an archangel." The actor almost topples forward as he moves in for his close-up. *snicker*

The dance scene between Xena and Gabrielle. Subtext fans will no doubt have already worn a hole in their tape rewinding this scene (all the while pleading on their knees - "why wasn't there *more*?!") A lusty Virgil turned up to continue his father's legacy of being a major butt-inski, serving no obvious purpose at that moment except perhaps to remind us of the existence of his gender (lest we were forgetful). Warms the heart to see a son continuing his father's work...

Favourite gesture: Xena flicking her hair with her sword as she flirts with Lucifer. Miss Piggy is not dead!

Gabrielle 'throwing in the towel' thereby interrupting Xena's lip lock with Lucifer. Xena's slow turn and semi-indignant drawled, "Yessss?" as Gabrielle gives her The Look is classic Oh baby, those two were adoring this episode. Gotta love Gabrielle's altogether unconvincing explanation that she was merely refocusing Xena's attention to the task at hand.

QUOTABLE:

"Xena will never go down to Hell voluntary." Not true, Michael, she went there to save Gabrielle in the season five opener Fallen Angel. She also went down there in the last episode to tackle Mephistophaeles head on. Pay attention, wooden lad.

"I'm sure of both my faith and my devotion. Which has fuelled my speedy ascent up the hierarchy. A climb that will continue with a promotion to Seraphin." Lucifer opens his Seven Deadly Sins Bonus Saver account with a large deposit of sinful Pride.

"A great evil is coming Gabrielle, I can feel it." Eve gets wind of the death knell memo from StudioUSA cancelling 'Mother's' syndicated TV show.

"I've come to offer my services. After everything you've done for the city and our people." Aliyah, presumably a native of Amphipolis(?) appears from nowhere to pet Xena's horse. All in thanks for saving a long deserted town. *Where* did that girl spring from?

"You don't mind if I call you Lucy do you?" Lucy aka Xena lets us in on a little in-joke, while at the same time inferring Xena thinks Lucifer is a bit of a girl.

"It's not called corruption if you just peel away the layers to expose the rotten core. That is, unless you *want* Mommy to go to Hell." Xena proves she's a fast learner, in becoming a dab hand at the ol' maternal guilt trip angle. The witless Eve never stood a chance.

"You look tastier than I remember." Virgil shows an unhealthy interest in 'Aunty' Gabrielle. Thereby ensuring his imminent and painful death at the hands of Xena. To quote the Warrior Princess: "You're new around here right?"

"....you're a mortal female with a lying tongue, savage tendencies and a blond girlfriend. I'm a celibate archangel in the service of the lord." Lucifer shows off his powers of observation. And he finally settled the blonde/redhead debate. *g*

"Mother! Your purpose will not be served by subjecting this temple or this town to further desecration." Spoilsport. Eve gets the, er, *best* lines. It's also beyond me how she kept a straight face when her mother was carried into the temple wearing a sieve on her face. But mothers are sent to embarrass us...

Best Comeback:

Michael: "You dare talk of dirty work, when you besmirch so many souls with your nefarious filth."

Xena: "Besmirch? Is that even a word?"

Gabrielle: "Xena, no one is ready to got to Hell. That's the point."

Xena: "Really? Well, you and Virgil were looking ready to burn not long ago."

Xena Star Set To Thrill Fans - Gold Coast Bulletin 2 Nov 2011

Image

Xena Star Set To Thrill Fans
The Gold Coast Bulletin - 2 November 2011

FRIDAY will mark 10 years since Renee O'Connor has been to Brisbane.

The US actress, best known for her role as Gabrielle on the hit TV series Xena: Warrior Princess, is one of the drawcards at this year's Supanova Pop Culture Expo, which rolls into Brisbane on Friday.

The 40-year-old says she was a regular visitor to Australia during her seven-year run on the fantasy show.

O'Connor says she is looking forward to meeting up with her loyal local fans.

"Xena fans are so incredibly loyal to me," she says.

"They follow every single thing that I do and I feel like I have an incredible relationship with them because they keep coming out to these events. "They're very forgiving." Since hanging up her leather bustier on Xena, O'Connor has appeared in TV and film roles, started her own online production company and become a motivational speaker.

She says she is a long way from the 22-year-old "kid" picked for Xena.

"I worked for the producers twice before and they had me in mind for the role, so off I moved to New Zealand," she says.

"It was mind blowing to look back at who I was when I started the show to when I finished the show and to the person I am now.

"I learnt to have more confidence in my body because I was playing a strong woman who had to fight and step up.

"In the beginning, I was quite doughy. I had to get up and train before and afterwork, it didn't come naturally."

O'Connor says she's proud to have been a part of Xena and to have worked with Lucy Lawless.

‘‘It was one of the first times women could see other women on TV who laughed at themselves, kicked arse, loved each other deeply and were goofballs,’’ she says.
