Faith-Based Film Creates It's Own Fan-Driven Theatrical
Release System Through Facebook
The independent faith-based feature film, "Beyond The Farthest Star" is incorporating its own fan-driven theatrical release system called BRING IT! Through Facebook and the film's website (www.BeyondTheFarthestStar.com) fans are encouraged to click the BRING IT! Button, which brings the movie to a cinema in their area. 'Beyond' includes an all-star cast such as Renee' O'Connor, Todd Terry, Barry Corbin, Billy McNamara, Andrew Prine, Cherami Leigh and Lou Beatty, Jr.
Dallas, September 21, 2010- Pathlight Entertainment and the producers of the feature film, "Beyond The Farthest Star" are utilizing the power of Facebook to mobilize fans with an innovative fan-driven release system called BRING IT! Created by Pathlight Entertainment for the film's marketing and eventual distribution, fans can vote for the film to screen in their area by registering online. Currently, more that 230 U.S. cities and 10 countries are eager to see the film in 2011. Cities with the highest number of votes will see the film first. BRING IT! has only been in place for less than two months and the number of votes have exceeded 1400. All votes are instantly tallied and displayed on the film's website at www.BeyondTheFarthestStar.com.
"In the past, fans had no voice in whether a small, indie film like Beyond would play in their local theater," says Writer/Director Andrew Librizzi, "Now, with the Bring It! option, individuals, churches and organizations can literally BRING this uniquely-inspired movie to a cinema in their city."
While voting to bring Beyond to their specific metro area, fans are also registered for exclusive on-going updates and future giveaways. At the moment, the over 4,500 Facebook fans and 1,400 votes have all been word-of-mouth as the film is in its early stages of editing. A trailer will be released later this year.
The "Beyond The Farthest Star" cast includes international star Renee O'Connor ("Xena", "State Of Hate", "Boogeyman 2"), Todd Terry ("Cadillac Jack", "Arlington Road", "Fissure"), Barry Corbin ("No Country for Old Men", "One Tree Hill", "War Games"), Billy McNamara ("Copycat", "Chasers", "Legend of Hell's Gate"), Andrew Prine ("The Miracle Worker", "Gettysburg", "The Dukes of Hazzard") and introducing Cherami Leigh as Anne Wells. The film is set for a 2011 release.
Beyond is produced by Benjamin Dane ("The Significant Other", "Still Born"), Sally Helppie ("Exit Speed", "The Beacon"), and helmed by writer/director, Andrew Librizzi ("Holding On", "Still Born").
The film has received early praise from John Hossler of Josh McDowell Ministries saying Beyond is, "Intriguing, heartfelt and powerful". The film is an "American Beauty" meets Frank Capra-esque story of betrayal, forgiveness and redemption. Adam Wells, a minister driven by the prospect of achieving greatness as the next nationally syndicated TV Evangelist, lays down his opportunity at "celebrity" and even his own life for his wife and troubled daughter.
